• Yardbird Classic Trains is dedicated to keeping the rich heritage of model railroading alive by supplying parts and service for many of the models from the vintage years of our hobby.  We also offer many unique custom parts, detailing parts, and other kit building accessories for those who wish to design and create specific locos.  While much of our emphasis is on HO steam locomotives of the past, we also provide parts and service for many other locos, rolling stock, and Mantua/Tyco locomotives.  We carry several lines of quality replacement parts, custom detailing parts, and many of the vintage locomotives which we can build to your specifications.  We also keep new locomotives and items in stock for sale.  Check our Sales section for more.
  
  
• Our services include repairs and regular servicing on most locomotives, which includes cleaning, fine-tuning, and lubrication.  Great care goes into every project that is done, making sure each piece will perform to perfection.  Our work is fully guaranteed.  As an authorized Mantua service center, we perform certified repair and maintenance work on old and new Mantua/Tyco locomotives, and have parts for most of them in stock.  We are distributors for Helix Humper remotor units,  Bowser Mfg.,  and Mantua Classics. 
Original restoration, custom building, detailing, kit-building, custom painting, lettering, and weathering services are also available as time permits (check with us for time schedules). 


• Our goal is to offer modelers quality service, products, and information at affordable prices.  Many times an older locomotive can easily be repaired to provide good service once again.  Or, a less-expensive or vintage locomotive with the proper detailing and adjustments can look and perform as well as its expensive brass counterpart.  We also love to help restore those family heirlooms into enjoyable pieces for your layout.
